Dana and Linda Johnson were both raised in church, attending pretty much every time the doors were open. In their childhood and teen years Linda loved it, but according to Dana, he felt the opposite.  After an encounter with God at 17 years old, Dana gave his life completely to Jesus and began to feel God calling him to ministry.  Dana and Linda were married in 1974, and began pursuing God's direction for their lives.

In 1985, they took a seemingly small step into ministry, agreeing to work with the children at their church in Northern California.   With thirteen children in attendance, they saw God show up week after week, revealing His presence and power among the kids.  It was evident that God was doing something unique!   In 1989 they received a very direct word from the Lord and moved to Texas, serving as Children's Pastor at Eagle Mountain International Church, where they helped found Superkid Academy, an international ministry that continues today.

Dana most recently served as Children's Worship Pastor at Gateway Church in Southlake Texas, while Linda directed Worship Leadership Development for the kids.  During this time, they founded a worship training program for kids called Heart School, an innovative and incredibly fruitful ministry.  In 2013, Dana won a Dove Award for Children's Album of the Year, serving as Executive Producer and songwriter for the project.

During their more than 3 decades of ministering to children and raising up leaders, Dana and Linda have traveled domestically and internationally, hosting worship nights and special events for children, leading outreach teams and speaking at conferences.

The Johnson's stepped out to start their own ministry known as "thegodkidconnection" to pursue the next chapter in God's call for their lives.  Their first book, which will be called The God-Kid Connection is scheduled to release in late 2017.
